I think it was us just missing each other and not used to not seeing each other everyday. He says that I never considered his feelings during an arguement and that he felt that his voice was never heard. Yesterday he came down to the city where I live and was dead set on breaking up with me.

I was completely taken aback by this because I had no idea that he started to fall out of love with me. He says that he needs to find himself without any relationships at all he even started breaking friendships with his friends and family, and he said now it was time to tell me.

My gf of 5 years, high-school love I'm a senior in high school and I have never had a boyfriend. I've never ev Need advice from men who are still in love with high school My long distance boyfriend has suddenly disappeared. However it comes to a point where a lad needs his space to "sew his oats". He may say its not to hook up with others which he is probably being truthfull, however they generally do in a break. I know this because i am childhood sweethearts with my boyfriend and to be completely honest he needed a break, i of corse was absolutely heartbroken and took it seriously, but a break can do you good, just be careful when you guys get back together proper again, you have to forgive and forget what happens in the break.

I dont think your boyfriend has fallen out with you I just think he needs some space, i was in the exact same situation x. He broke up with me last month saying similar things, "you treated me badly" "you never supported me" So i do admit i was wrong and have sincerely apologized for it. In the first years we had the time of our life, then he slowly started picking up hobbies, activities, and things that took away our time together.

Me supporting him on those, will essentially take time away from me. Two weeks before we broke up, i was in Seattle, he texted and called me of how he missed me, two weeks later, we were arguing about his job and financial situation. So i used this time to tell him how i really felt I am devastated, 5 years! I dont see us being together anymore, it will not be the same.

At some point during our conversation of breaking up, he mentioned to me he wanted to use this time to "do his own things", "figure what he wants" But he had already made me feel guilty, because he only saw what i did wrong, and did not remember any of the good memories we had in the 5 years. I tried. If you give him too much attention, he will be comfortable and his ego will be satisfied, and he will not have to miss you or do any work to get back with you.

Anyway, be perfectly honest with yourself—if he comes back simply because you ask him to, what will happen? Will you be the one supplying all the work? Will you be able to trust him fully? Make him work for it. Maybe one of them will. And finally, him blaming the end of your relationship on little arguments sounds like a cop-out. Making him pursue you might. Something similar happened to me with my ex GF.

We, were together for 4 years, we went to college togehter, and we also loved each other so much. About two weeks before she broke up with me she said she needed space, to find herself, to figure out what she needs. She started saying similar things to me too.. I started to panic. The last two weeks of oyr relationship I begged her to see me, to talk to me, even cried on the phone.

She broke up with me, and a few days later I found out she was seeing someone else. I was completely heartbroken. Went no contact inmeadiately for two weeks until she called me. I thought she had regreted leaving me, but no. SHe just wanted to apologize for treating me badly and said that that guy was only a friend and that she did not want a relationship with everybody.

She said that maybe in the future. Two weeks later I run into her and the New guy holding hands. Amanda : Your not alone in feeling confused about this and it does hurt I completely understand because right now I am going through pretty much the exact same thing. I decided to go No Contact with my ex and it seemed to work pretty well. By the way me and my ex split up a month ago.

I was devastated and literally locked myself away and cried everynight. But, if you feel like its worth it and feel like you are meant to be together and stay together, this break might be a good thing, as hard as that is to believe. I had to change the way I lookede at my break up and realize that if I had any chance I was going to have to do this his way because he was the one questioning how he felt not me. But, if he really does love you and deep down inside he does, which is something I have been telling myself from day one, then he will be with you.

I can tell you that taking a break from begging and pleading did help my relationship with my ex. He contacted me for one and he has been more open about what in our relationship really went wrong. I wish you the best of luck and hope things turn around for you and him.

I once heard my ex saying almost the same thing.. Use this time to focus on yourself and do what you love to do.. Camden : Not sure how old this post is but my bf of 5 years recently did the same thing to me.

He declared an extended break after we had a fight about his future and him getting his life together. Hes always struggled with it and gets really down on himself and i made the mistake of telling him that taking the semester off school is avoiding responsibility.

Hes 25 years old and says he wants this degree but keeps taking time off or not taking it seriously. So now we are on an extended break; which he declared the day before our 5 year anniversary. Im so broken right now. I would like to know how anyone from the previous posts came out of their situation if this post is old..

Considering the relationship is over, out of sight out of mind. My breakup is almost hitting a year and i have yet to hear anything from him since the breakup. Definitely keep yourself busy and try not to think too much.

Good Luck. If you guys want to know what happened, we went on a 5 month "break". Over the course of this breakup was probably the most difficult 5 months of my life. I cried myself to sleep for three weeks straight. But at the end of it, I was actually the one that ended things for good. I met someone knew not a rebound and our relationship has shown me how good things can be!

He feels guilty for breaking up with you and dislikes being the bad guy for selfishly terminating his relationship with you. He Broke Up With Me And Told Me He Needs Time

I just turned 32 and my ex broke up with me a month ago. I say this because it was an issue in our relationship. In the beginning of our relationship, the first 4 months , things were great — we traveled, he courted me, I was treated like a princess. I forgave him, and we pressed on. I bet this was my mistake. The next 6 months were rocky. I was really struggling to trust him and every time we took one step forward, we took two steps back. I ended up yelling at him same cycle I got stuck in after he made a mistake in the beginning , and calling him bad names.

Then there was a breaking point: he didn't answer my calls one time when he was out, and I lost it and our attachment styles/needs triggered each other AGAIN. That is a sign that you should cut him off entirely ASAP and find a man who is.

Now, listen carefully: what you do after he asks you for space is super important. When guys get upset, they like to go into their shell to get some perspective on the issue at hand. If you spend tons of time with someone but you fight all the time, no one would call that a great relationship. But if your schedules conspire so that you can only spend a little time with each other, but that time is amazing — anyone can see that you have a great relationship.

What To Do When He Says He Needs Space

Let the enlightening begin…. Whether he officially says he needs space or he just disappears, this situation usually causes problems in the relationship because a guy and a girl will see it in two totally different ways.
